The 2nd installment of Sarah Negovetich's Acceptance series, Rite of Revelation, proved to be just as good as the 1st!

Rite of Revelation picks up right where Rite of Rejection ended. The Cardinal wanted Rebecca to issue an apology for breaking into the Acceptance ceremony & broadcast, but she refuses to do so. This leads to chaos and riots and all hell breaks loose.

Eventually, Rebecca and Daniel do escape and find their way to some semblance of freedom. But of course, freedom never comes without a price. Some friends die, some friends are left behind, and some enemies are never truly gone.

The characters go through numerous changes in this book. I think one of the biggest things they all have to learn is forgiveness and trust, both of which are hard to do when you've been truly hurt and wronged by someone. Their little "family" has some issues to work through, and their group has to content with other groups outside the Cardinal's control who also have the same forgiveness and trust issues.

Rite of Revelation was a little slower paced than the first book, but I still enjoyed it just as much. This one was definitely more about the characters, although there were still several big scenes in the book that will make the next (and possibly final?) book in the series the big showdown. And without giving too much away, there were several tearjerker scenes in this book too.

If you enjoyed Rite of Rejection, I think you'll love Rite of Revelation too!

Before you Stands the Future.

The Cardinal plans to execute seventeen-year-old Rebecca Collins, just as soon as he gets what he needs to solidify his rule over the United Territories. Faced with certain death, Rebecca discovers not everyone is under the Cardinal's control. A new alliance helps Rebecca and her friends escape the PIT, giving Rebecca a chance to live the life her Rejection took away.

But the Cardinal needs her in order to stay in power, and he doesn't care who has to die to bring her back to justice.

Her last fight was a push to survive. This time, Rebecca has a life that might be worth dying for.
